ok. this is going to sound wierd, but i have recently been talking to this girl who is younger than me at work (just small things like hi)and through instant messeging, the weird thing is that she is the one doing all the moves. i really like this girl but i want to know if shes interested in me in a "friend" type of way or if is in another way.

I don't know this girl and I don't read minds. From her saying "hi" to you there's no way for me to know if she's interested in you as a friend or as more.
The real issue here is that it doesn't matter what her interests are. If you understood this better, you could CREATE that attraction in her! Instead, you're worried about whether she's already interested in you so you don't have to take any risks with her.
Simon, go take a risk and get her digits and then tell her you want to get to know her over drinks this weekend.
