Dear Dr. Dennis,
I am an Egyptian teenager, 17 years in the American University in Cairo. I am overweight but i am very tall !
the problem is that i can't find my perfect match, i have dated for the passed couple of years either normal girls or really ugly girls JUST FOR FUN not for love ! I am very sociable though but I can't find the girl in my mind to date and to think seriously to marry her in the future. People also tell me that i am funny in a way. I need for the beautiful, attractive, loveable kind of a girl...what do i do ???

Here's what you do: you stop putting all this pressure on yourself and just enjoy what you're doing right now.

At 17 years old, I know that you think you should be dating someone that has long-term potential because this is 100% of your age. Imagine if someone had written to you that was 14 or 15 years old. Would you have any different advice for them? Of course!

You have a very long set of choices in your future. Don't force yourself to think in terms of settling down yet. You need to be enjoying this time in your life for exactly what it is - experimentation and education. You're still learning all the skills you're going to need when you finally do find that girl of your dreams. Don't rush that education or you'll simply miss it.
