Expert: Ana - 7/21/2008

Question
First off i called this girl about a power outage in my city. she said that she
had no idea what happened. she then asked me if i wanted to hang out with
her. I then said something like sure, how about tomorrow, she then said
something like i dont know, i'll call you. She never called and i called her
once and then waited 3 days then i called her again and asked if she wanted
to hang out. she said sure, what do you want to do. I said doesn't matter to
me, it's up to you. She said it didn't matter to her. I then said i dont know i
called you because i was bored. she said call me when you've thought of
something. and i said already then. And we both laughed and said goodbye
then I got really busy and I had to go up north. I left a message saying
something like I had to go up north, be back tuesday, if you still want to hang
out with me call me tuesday. She never called me then two weeks went by and
the girl called and
said we should hang out. I said I couldn't do anything that day and i said how
about saturday or sunday. She then said, "You call me" I said okay. It's now
going on a week in 2 days since i've talked to her. I'm just really nervous
about if she doesn't like me like i like her, what would we do, that kind of
stuff.

Additional Details
She asked for my phone number on the last day of school, then I asked her
for hers. It took me 8 days to finally call her when i got her cell phone #
We've never hung out before outside of school

I've known her for about 3 years (we never really talked much until this year)
I'm 18, going to be a senior this year.
She also asked me out in 9th and i rejected her because i was nervous to go
out with her. not scared of her just scared of how terrible of a boyfriend i
would've been. When ever i think about calling her i just get really nervous
and procrastinate it. I don't think i'm afraid of the rejection to be honest i
don't know what i'm afraid of.  I just don't understand why she would want to
go out with a guy like me when there are many other better guys she can
choose from.

Answer
Ok honestly sweetie, you keep on blowing chance after chance with this girl. You need to learn that you have to act like a man, which means you must be decisive and quick thinking. You can't keep on letting women play games with you. If you do, they will have no respect for you. I mean, how long will you keep on letting this girl walk all over you? Come on.

And why on earth would you reject a girl you like when SHE ASKED YOU OUT?!?!? That made NO sense at all. Shyness is not an excuse. That's got to be the dumbest thing you could do!

Ok for the last time, you try once more, call her and HAVE SPECIFIC PLANS ALREADY MADE. Have a date planned out, place and time, and tell her about it. Say "clear Friday evening, let's hang out here"

I mean...you're the man...she's expecting you to act like a man...since she's the woman it's not her job to chase you... so you need to be very decisive from now on.

And if it doesn't work out, NEXT!!! Find another girl.

Don't worry, it will get better with practice. Just remember that your time is precious and you can't keep waiting around for a relationship to develop. You've got to strike while the iron is hot.
