Question
Hi Mark.. I'm quite shy but can usually start a conversation if there's something obvious to talk about, but the rest of the time I'm terrible.
Any tips on what to say that isn't a cheesy pickup line? I'm ok up to about the 'Hi,'... and when I've got talking for a bit, but it's that first subject of conversation I always get stuck on and end up not talking to them cos I can't think of anything to say.

Thanks for your letter.
The most interesting conversations with women are when you let them talk about themselves.
Your problem, unlike many boys, doesn't seem to be to be actually meeting girls - but deeper conversations. Boring conversation to girls is you talking to them incessantly about yourself.
Explore ways of keeping girls opening up to you.
