hi doc, my name is jared im 19 years old from west virginia me and my girlfriend well i should say x girlfriend jenna broke up a couple weeks ago and im still hurt about i still really care about her and want to be with her the thing is im moving to chicago saturday to take acting classes for about 6 months before i move back..doc theres also a guy jenna had a crush on through middle school who never talked to her but now hes interested in her and i think shes starting to have feelings for him as well doc.. i still love her and want to get her back whe i come back from chicago..what i should do??

Hello Jared!

You've got a huge problem here. You can't rebuild the relationship while you're away for 6 months! You might have had a chance if you started a few weeks ago.

Instead, do this:

You're going to be in Chicago for 1/2 year, right? Make sure you keep your facebook page up to date (hopefully she's a friend on your page!) Make sure she knows all the fun you're having and all the new people (especially women) you're meeting.

Seriously! Go have a blast and meet a ton of people! When you come back you can check in with her (if she hasn't with you by this time) and see where she is. The distance will help her forget why you broke up and help her remember all the good times you had together.
