Dear Dr. Dennis W. Neder
I live in a country that boys and girls are separated from primary school to the end of the high school. I am a teenager now. As you know, there are many interests in boys in this age. How can I really attract a girl to my self? How can I be friend with a girl? I've never done it before. I don't know what will the reaction of my parents be about this? And I am really shy to do this! I don't know what the girls will say after I do this. You know, I just want to have a good and healthy communication with girls and get familiar with their characteristics and get more information about them and be more experienced. That's all and I want my parents to accept it. This is also good and useful for marriage in the future, isn't it?

You live in a country where that separation hasn't always been the case!
What you're asking me is actually a huge, HUGE question! It would take me many weeks to many months to answer it as clearly as you're asking it. The entire subject of dating and relationships is very complicated because we are complicated, emotional creatures.
The answer is to become a student of relationships; just as you're a student of your studies at school. In regards to your parents, I don't think you're giving them much credit here. Why wouldn't they be happy for you wanting to learn these things? They had to learn them too - just like you. They know you're interested in girls as it's all perfectly normal.
