Hi Dr. Neder,

How are you? My name is Paul and I reside in Boston, MA. I was checking out
single women on the Badoo site and found this one lady whose profile I liked.
And the best part is that she resides in the same city as myself. I don't believe
in long-distance relationships because they don't have a very high success
rate, which is why I am looking for women who live in the same state as me.
My goal is to establish an opening dialogue and ask her out on a date. But I
would like your advice on how to write a good and impressionable personal
online ad that will spark her interest. Any ideas?

Hello Paul!

Do you know where the 3 worst place are to meet women?

1) Bars
2) Clubs
3) Internet

There are a ton of reasons why this is true and I could (maybe "should"?) write a book about all of this. Suffice it to say that no matter how great your personal ad is, you're still just going to be one in a thousand guys that approach this girl. Frankly, crafting the "perfect" ad only improves your odds by about 2-3% - THAT'S IT!

Many guys (and girls by the way) try to use the internet because it seems like you have a much higher volume of women to go through. In reality, you do, but the vast, VAST majority of it is a waste of time, money and other resources.

I'm glad at least you're trying to find women that are local because you're absolutely right about LDR's - they RARELY work out.

My suggestion is to forget your "perfect personal ad" and simply go for crafting the perfect response to her ad instead. Make it specific to her and show your common interests. Just remember to post a recent picture of yourself and don't be surprised if you never hear from her. Remember: you're just one horny guy in a thousand that have already written to her.
