QUESTION: Hi doc! I have a query. There's this girl in my skl who is very goodlooking.
I wasn't really attracted to her and I don't know her personally as well.
However we both always exchanged glances and made eye contact as
well. The sad thing is that our skl is over and I might probably never get to
see her again and now I want to try to get her as my girlfriend.  The only
way I see is through getting to know her as a friend on facebook, as I do
not have her number or anything else. However I am not sure of what
context to use when contacting her through facebook as well. So how
should I go about getting to know her?

Why in the hell did you wait until after school was over - your absolute best chance to meet her - to contact me for help???

Now, you want me to pull some rabbit out of my hat here. Unfortunately, Facebook is one lousy way of getting to know her! It might be your "in" but that's it.

The best context you have is the opportunity you just threw away - school. Contact her via Facebook and see if she'll accept your friend request. If so, get to her and get back into real life. DO NOT try to build something via Facebook!

Hey Akash!

Of course there hasn't been anything between you - you haven't created it. You've been sitting there waiting for HER to do all your work for you. It's not her job and she damn-well knows it. It's YOUR job.

Never ask if she wants to talk to do anything. Assume she does. Just say, "I'd like to get to know you better. Let's have coffee. Here, write down your number and I'll call you next week..."

Simple and proven effective.
