Hi I am seth I am a freshman in high school and last summer I got aquainted with this  girl and I realy liked her and she acted like she might be interested but she is a year younger than me. So I asked her dad if I could ask her out and he said no I am thinking about asking again this year and I need to know the best aproach to both her and him

Hello Seth!

Why go after a "no" with TWO people? I have no idea why you asked her father instead of asking her directly. Do you think that's chivalrous or something? It might have been - back before electricity!

I get it that you don't want him to stand in your way, but what's supposed to change here now? You're talking about his little girl! He's not eager to see her grow up, but he can't stop it either.

Go get to know the girl herself and let her deal with daddy for you. Trust me, she's far, far better at it than you'll ever be!
