Audi Repair/2002 A-4 - Driver Window stuck

Question
I am looking for some assistance in trying to avoid a trip to Audi on this one.
I lowered my driver window and when I tried to close it jammed.  It wanted to
go back down even when I was pressing to bring up.  I had to force the
window up to keep the window somewhat closed.  So the motor seems to
working - it is not dead - seems to be off track, but being off track it wants
to bring the window down.  I need advice on how to open up the door and
take a look - from there I need to know what to look for.  Any help?????

Answer
More than likely the wire has either broken or has jumped off the track/rollers.  You will need to remove the inner trim panel from the door, it is held in with screws and plastic clips.  Once removed have a look at the motor and the wire that goes around a series of rollers.  Unless you are a competent mechanic this job may be better left to an import shop, not necessarily an Audi dealer...  Good luck,  Jan
