I have a 2000 Audi A6 2.8 Avant.  The MIL is on but under acceleration, the MIL will start flashing and from 30-40 mph the car lurches.  I plugged in my code reader and got: P0442 (evaporative emission system leak), P0300 (random/multiple cylinder misfire), P0301 (cylinder 1 misfire), and P0421/P0431 (warm-up catalyst efficiency below threshold). My first guess would blame the cat, but if you have another suggestion, I would appreciate it!

Given the codes and the engine performance, I think I would go after the coil pack first.  What is the mileage on the car?  The cat may well be the second stop to get everything working well again...  The EGR valve probably needs a look too.  Let me know how you get on,
