Audi Repair/Audi A4 Cabriolet Power Top Storage Bay - broken lever

Similar thing happened to me just this week. Had the top down for the very first time and all was well. Put the top up..all still well. Loaded up the trunk with our luggage and drove 400 miles home and all still well. Unload the trunk still good.
Car sat a few days and when we went to raise the cover to load our groceries into the trunk, absolutely nothing.
If you figure this out...could you let us know how you fixed it. Thanks!!

The same thing happened to me last week. Any update on any successful repair that didn't cost 1000 USD? Thanks, Tanja

We have the same problem. The compartment cover unclips from the sides and underneath, so we can partially see the inner workings (there's a bit of loos cable maybe) but there is a second cover over the mechanism (which the lever is fitted to). Does anyone know how to remove this cover so we can see what's wrong?

Usual problem is that the clip holding the outer cable breaks off. To remove the cover (after removing the 4 torx screws) is to firmly pull the cover and a clip on either side will come out. You need a new lever assembly to fix the problem!

For our 2007 A4 Cabriolet the power top has failed to operate many times. We too have paid the $1,000 rate to have it repaired, only to have the problem recurr later.
We have found that using the manual operation tools provided with the car (read your manual to find and use them) and manually moving the top through a full cycle, including lock downs both in the up and down positions, the top will almost always function properly when the procedure is completed.
Be sure to first check that there are no impediments to the storage bay being fully in the down position and that objects in the trunk have not worked their way into the storage bay, thus blocking its movement.
