Subject: AUDI 2000 A6 QUATTRO SHIFT STUCK ON PARK

Question
Hi, my car was flooded and the shift keeps getting stuck on park and it would not move. I get error codes from the control module: p1423, 1411, 1177, 1176, 1138, 1136, 0441 and 1626. Can someone help and let me know how can I resolve this. the car is completely dry by now and the break lights are working too. I read somewhere about a solder joint on tip chip but I am clueless what that is and even more on how to fix it.

Answer
The problem with the transmission comes from code 1626: Data-Bus Powertrain Missing Message from Transm.Contr. This may be due to corroded terminals or another bad connection.  All of the other codes are engine mixture, secondary air flow and O2 sensor related.  If the car was flooded, these problems are not unique, there is a reason why insurance companies total flooded cars out.  I would start by checking, cleaning and putting vaseline on all the connectors.  There are a lot of them.  Let me know,  Jan
