Question
I just purchased a '04 Chevy Malibu. It doesn't have XM radio. I would like to upgrade it to XM but I would like to keep the factory radio/CD which has DIC. Is this workable? I understand an after market radio my screw up the electrical and void the factory warranty. Any thoughs...

Answer
Brian,
No problem! take a look at the XM RF modulator units. With the modulator unit all you do is to unplug the antenna from the stereo and connect the XM modulator between the factory stereo and the antenna. To receive XM broadcasts you will need to tune your factory stereo to the station that the XM manual tells you to. I have installed many units this way and for power the vehicle owner simply plugs the XM radio into the cig lighter or acc power outlet.
