hi...original problem was radio/cassette no or erratic sound.  bought new radio, same OEM model.  still no sound. all lights power up, antenna works.  bought new OEM AMP, (original model number)still no sound.(still have lights (LCD) and antenna). this is a JBL amp.  Any ideas what we should check NEXT? (did check fuses, wiring seems intact,reset battery, etc) Thanks!

wow! sounds like only thing left is speakers. there's the possibility of a bad 'fusible link' (a small section of wire designed to burn out) which you can easily find if you have the $60 wiring manual available through ford/lincoln. you might go ahead and let a sound shop look at it since you've already done most of the work.
