Question
The sound would come on for a few seconds and then pop off.  Then the sound disappeared completely, sometimes I would only hear a pop when I turned the unit on and sometimes not. I have replaced both the radio and the amp with guaranteed used units and tried both new and the old in all combinations, however, the sound still does not work. I also pulled all of the fuses, they are ok, when I replaced them and turned the unit on again I received music for a few seconds, then nothing.  Can you help?

Answer
you have a bad speaker

there is a protection circuit on the amplifier if one of the speakers have a short or under 4 ohms the system will play untill there is a resistance from one of the speaker in this case before the amplifier burns it goes in to portection and turns off all the outputs

checkk all your speakers or unplug them and try one by one
good luck
