Question
I belive that my rear (bass) speaker is blown. How do i go about removing the cover to install a new one or at least confirm that it is blown? Also, i have heard that the '99 explorers had a bad soudering problem from the factory that casues the display to dim and burn out. Is there any easy fix for this?

Answer
take one afternoon to change the speaker it is not easy
you have to take the plastic trim panel cover from rear dorr to taillgate one bic piece
then you have to remove the box out with amplifier and speaker
there is a couple of screws on the speaker  but there is one more screw on the back of the box  that is screw in to the magnet  the speaker have to be replace with the original becuase it is 1.5 to 2 ohms speaker

the 99 radio
resistors get very hot the top  left board needs to be remove from the radio and clean and solder all the points around the resistor again
or buy a new board from
