Audio Systems/2001 NISSAN 6 DISC CD CHANGER

Question
I have a 2001 Nissan Frontier that I just purchased 2 months ago. It has a factory 6 disc cd changer. It had been working great until last week & it just stopped playing cds, the radio still works fine. I get the message ERR1 on the screen and now it won't even keep a cd in. It will try to play it, I get the ERR1 message and it ejects the cd. When this first started, if I messed with it enough I could get it to play 1 or 2 out of 6 discs. I did have to change out my battery before this started and I noticed this problem right after that. I have cleaned my battery terminals and checked the connects and everything looks o.k. Could there be a connection? Any info on the problem would be a great help.
Thanks,
Melanie

Answer
you need to take the unit to a service center and have it professionally cleaned, lubed and aligned. it's apparently not loading tray all the way in enough to trip load switches. this is something i would recommend you not attempting yourself, damage to limit switches would make it economically not feasible to fix.
