Question
My cd player in my 2002 F150  (original equiptment w/ AM FM stereo
starts skipping and garbled music after running for about 20 minutes. Once it heats up it takes an hour to cool down.Anyway to clean unit or repair overheating? Thanks Mike

Answer
there are cd lens cleaners available, but i don't think that's your problem. i know with my cd player, i can't run much heater when playing cd or it also goes into overheated mode. all i can suggest is when using cd, use alot less heater. i'm sure you could take dash all apart and try to insulate heating ducts near the stereo, but i'm sure you'll agree that it's too much like work to do that. just keep your heat low when using.
