Question
So, with this setup, is there nothing to worry about as far as the loss of warning lights/chimes that I've read about?

Question -
I have a 2004 Impala And want to install a Pioneer DEH-P5800. I have these accessories: Metra 801858 harness/Metra PRO180 Smart cables/Metra 993301 kit/ and Metra 40GM10 antenna adapter. Is this all i need to install it? What functions will i lose? Do i NEED to relocate fact. unit? thanx

Answer -
Hi Ray,
Just checked out http://www.metrawireharness.com/index.php
And it seems you have it all covered. Bin the factory unit and replace with the Pioneer (nice unit). Work slow, triple check everything before connecting and always read the first line of every installation manual, "First, disconnect the battery" and you should be O.K. It's not magic, just logic. ;-
Take care, Peter

Answer
Hi Ray,
I wouldn't know about the (annoying) lights and chimes but according to the company you should retain all features. Most swap outs are a trade off between car features and radio features but it looks as if it should be OK. Let me know, just don't bin the factory one just yet.
