New 2007 Chrysler Pacifica. Have the top head unit w/DVD just under the Interezzmo sp? When listening to sources (AM/FM/CD/Serious satellite) I am very disappointed in the sound quality and staging from this unit. All the sound comes from the floor. But when I pop in a DVD it's like a different unit. The sound is very full and stages 100% better. I am noticing specifically that the front tweets in the upper front door are anemic when listening to any other source other than DVD. Is it possible that the head unit does not properly switch out of (or stop decoding) surround sound if not on DVD.

that is very estrange i work on that vehicle before and didn't notice a sound difference also the sat radio and the dvd use the same input audio port from the radio  so they have to sound the same  am/fm/can be lower volume and quality  i believe in this case there is a problem with the amplifier system or the signal the radio is sending to the amplifier  they to listen to the sat and dvd from the headphones and see if there is a difference headphones audio signal is not going in to the radio pramp or amplifier
