QUESTION: Hi
I have a 1987 Yellowstone Camino 5th wheel RV, I bought an Audiovox wall mount AM/FM CD Player and am having trouble getting it to power on. Wires from the RV are blue (power) and white (ground) wires on stereo system have a 12v wire, an ignition wire and a ground. Can you help?
Thx

ANSWER: Yes, the set requires 2 power wires and ground.  One 12v line is always connected and comes directly from the battery (through a fuse somewhere) and the other 12v remote is to turn the set on.  The ignition wire connects to the ignition such that it applies the 12v to the remote turn on when the ignition is on.

That should solve your problem.

Let me know if there are more questions.

QUESTION: Thx or answering so fast :)
The problem is that the 5th wheel isn't hooked to the towing vehicle, the fuse is actually on the stereo system itself, and with only 2 wires out of the hole in the wall but 3 wires on the stereo, should I hook both power wires on the stereo to the one power wire in the trailer?

Answer
Yes, you can do that but that will leave the stereo ON all the time.  What you should do is add a switch to the third (remote turn on) connection that will allow you to turn the stereo ON when you want it on.  That make sense for you?

You can purchase a switch at any automotive or electronics store.
