Question
Alright so today i was driving and playing my system pretty loud and all the sudden my two subs stop hitting. So i went to my house and checked if it was the subs and it wasnt. The amplifier is turning on. BUt when hook up speakers to it they dnt play anything.. whats the matter and how can i fix it?? thank u

Answer
ONE: Open wire going to the subs?  Sudden drop out can be caused by wire going open, breaking off, etc.

TWO: Amplifier went into overload.  It should reset itself, though. At least most of them do.  You can reset it by removing the 12v power for a few minutes and starting over with it.

THREE:  Loss of the remote turn on signal. This is a 12v line coming from the ignition or the head unit that turns on the amp when the head unit goes on.

FOUR:  Are you sure you are getting a signal into the inputs of the amplifier?

FIVE:  Failure of the amplifier. If the internal fuse at the output section has gone open it means the output stages have no power.

SIX:  Voice coil gone open!  Quite a common occurrence in subwoofers.  But rare that both subs would fail at the same time. BUT: if they were wired in parallel and you just didn't notice that one had gone off line and then when the second one goes  off line you would definitely detect it and could think that they both failed at the same time.

Hope this gives you enough fuel to track it down and get it fixed.  Let me know if you get stuck.
