Question
i just put in a after market cd player in a 92 nissan maxima  the radio cuts on
but i have no sound i matched up the color code correct....what could be the
problem?

Answer
If it is was a Bose system like most maxima's came from the factory with you must also remove the amplifiers that were mounted inside the speakers (or in some models a special external amp located/hidden in the trunk area.

Check this page for the bose and non-bose wiring:

http://installdr.com/InstallDocs/Nissan/PDF/647037.pdf

And see if that will offer any suggestions on the wiring scheme.

You might want to attach a stand-alone speaker to the output of the newly installed radio to verify it is feeding audio to it.  Then following the wiring to the in-car speaker.

Hope this gets you to the bottom of it.
