Audio Systems/i-phone connect

Question
I have a 2002 Ford Explorer XLS with stock AM/FM stereo with single CD player.  I would like to be able to play my i-phone through the stereo but FM transmitters don't work well in my area as it is difficult to find a quiet frequency (near NYC).  I connect the i-phone to a "line-in" or "aux" jack on my home stereo, is there a way to do this in my car as well?  I appreciate any help you can offer.

Jon
