my tv is about 10 yrs old and it is snowy and has static on lower channels. have had a cable tv repairman check the signal, so it must be the tv. any suggestions?

underneath the tuner shield, on the bottom of chassis are several solder points that need to be carefully resoldered. if you are not good with soldering with a fine point iron, i strongly suggest letting a shop do it. to verify thats what it is, hit the top of the set with your hand and see if it flickers or flashes.
