Audio Systems/speaker rating

Question
Hi I'm new to this audio stuff and was wondering about my speaker witch rating is (92db at 1 meter 1 watt 140w Music).I know I am giving it more then one watt but I'm not hearing 92db DECIBELS!

Answer
The rating is for 1 meter - which is just a little more that 1 yard or  3 feet.  And, 92db is not so loud when listening to it.  If you turn up the power to 10 watts of electrical input or 10db it will sound about twice as loud.   Acoustic sound level increases are not linear to the ear.

Also, as you move away from the speaker the level drops off inversely proportional to the distance.  So, at 2 meters the sound level would be 6 db less and so on.

Not sure what your question was, but let me know if you need more.
