Audio Systems/Wireless Speaker

Question
Hi there, I have an advent outdoor wireless speaker and the transmitter has a headphone plug on it however when I plug it in to my reciever the two wired speakers go off. Is there another way that I can hook up this wireless speaker? I do have two open speaker jacks on the back of my reciever. I would like to have the two speakers in the house on as well as the wireless one on in the back yard. Thanks Paul

Answer
First of all, DO NOT plug your transmitter into your speaker jacks on your receiver. More than likely, that can damage the transmitter as well as the receiver.

I guess I need to focus on the transmitter. Since wireless speakers are self powered, they would be taking in a line level signal from the transmitter, so the transmitter should have a line input. Looking at most of these online, they seem to have a 3.5mm plug.
What you'll need to do is see if your receiver has "TAPE OUT" jacks on the back. You'll need to get a y-cable (2 male RCA plugs to 1 3.5mm stereo / TRS), and run that to your transmitter.

I guess without knowing your exact gear, this is all I can do at the moment. I hope this helps.
