Hi, my wife has a 2005 Convertible VW New Beetle that has a factory installed Monsoon am/fm/cd radio. I wish to change it out with a 2006 (VW New Beetle) factory Monsoon am/fm/cd/sat radio. In research i found out about the radio code and the slotted din tools for removal - but no info on compatibility. I just wanted to insure that they were compatible prior to buying the 2006 Monsoon radio.

no they are not  the plugs are not the same someone found a way to modified  the sat radio plugs and made it fit but it was not easy this was on the vw or vr6 forum couple weeks ago

you also need to find the wiring and the satelite tunner
