Question
i have 6 rg-6 cables run to a tv with a satilite reciever in a closet connected by ir sensors.  i was wondering if there was a way to run hd signal through the rg-6 without running a hdmi cable

Answer
Component video (RGB) can handle HD - actually better than HDMI. With component video, the issues with distance (a BIG problem with HDMI) disappear, many times as short as 20 feet. Component video has TONS of bandwidth. Just make sure that your cables are the same length (or at least very close).

Newer HD video devices will allow a maximum of 1080i from the component video outputs. The only reason they don't give it the full 1080p is due to content protection issues (piracy).

Hope this helps!
