Audio Systems/4.1 Speaker Setup

Question
I recently received a 4.1 setup.  4 small speaker and 1 subwoofer.  None of the wires have ends to them (bare wire), but every speaker DOES have wires (2-wire, +/-) coming out.  How do I hook these together to plug into the existing television system (we actually have satellite and a DVD player hooked up).  Normally I'm pretty good with figuring things out, but this's got me stumped.

Answer
You need to acquire a surround sound receiver with at least 5 amplifiers.  The speakers connect - yes, the bare wires - directly to the back of the receiver.  The subwoofer connects to the sub output or if you wish, you can acquire a separate sub amplifier.

The amplifier is fed from the output of the tv.

If the tv does not have separate audio outputs on the back you may be able to use the headphone output.  Let me know if you need more explanation about the connections.
