Audio Systems/Acura Bose security code

Question
QUESTION: Hi. I just had my Bose 6-CD changer repaired for the second time. Only this time, after I installed it, the security code won't work. I've entered it repeatedly, but to no avail. Any thoughts??

ANSWER: Well, make sure you are entering it correctly.  After 3 times erroneously it probably needs to be reset.  Read through the owners manual for reset procedure.  If no specific reset is given, try removing power for 30 minutes; then try it again.

This should clear it up for you, but let me know if there is more.

QUESTION: Thanks. I didn't see any reset procedures. I'm certainly entering the correct code. This is baffling. Any other thoughts?

ANSWER: Did you reset it?  To do so you must remove power for 1/2 hour.  Best way is to pull one of the big cables from the battery of the car.

If the reset does not allow you to reenter the code and get it running there is an internal problem with it.  Some cars, I don't know about yours, automatically change the security code each time it is turned off.  For this you must have the instructions and the algorithm for determining the next code.  For this only Bose can help.

Sorry; hope you get it going.

QUESTION: Thanks for the response. I was able to get it. Apparently, when I took the antenna out, then entered the code, it worked! Don't know why, but I hope you can share this with others who may have the same problem.
