Question
Hi, I recently bought a new car with sony CDX-M600R head tuner. It's a great stero. However, I cannot get the anti-thief screen to work. The display will not go blank. Perfect for being nicked!

Answer
Are you talking about the security release settings?  This function sets the condition such that when it is removed from the car (battery is disconnected) the set will not come back on unless the security release has been entered.  This makes is so a thief cannot use it unless the security code is known.

If you go to page 8 of the english portion of the owners manual it explains how the release is entered.

It is called a datasheet in this page where you can download it:
http://www.datasheet4u.com/html/C/D/X/CDX-M700R_Sony.pdf.html

You must have the code and you must enter it by using the remote card.  If you don't have the remote you must contact a Sony service center to obtain it.  (They will ask for proof of ownership, serial number, model and any special codes printed on the unit chassis.)

Is this what you need? If not, explain more so I know what you do need.

Thks,
