Question
A cassette got stuck in my BMW factory alpine tape player and even though I took the tape out the system still believes a tape is inside and will not let me switch the system back to the radio. I press the radio button and it does not respond. If I disconnect the battery will this recycle the system and default the system back to the radio?

Answer
nop

you have to open the radio, top cover on the right side there is a big spring on back of the spring there is a 3/4 moon circle
you need to power the unit put more force on the spring, press the eject or of button and turn the circle by hand or with  pliers
you will here a loud release sound and the radio will work again

this tape deck needs to be clean and the rubber bands need to be replace
this radio is made by alpine

good luck
