Audio Systems/Connecting speakers to tv

Question
I hope you can help me? I'm wondering is there any way that I can connect my television to in ceiling speakers without the use of other equipment such as dvd player, stereo etc.  The reason i ask is because the tv is going to be wall mounted at the other end of the room from the speakers.

Answer
Unless the ceiling speakers are powered, or you have speaker level outputs on your TV, you'll need something. Most TV's will have only line level and / or digital audio outputs on them (that's if they even have an audio output!)

More than likely, you'll need some sort of amplifier for the ceiling speakers.
