Question
i have a 1994 chrysler lhs and i put a 7" linear phase flip out (model #uv7i) cd/dvd/everything i want stereo in the car. the radio works but when i put a cd or dvd in there is no sound they play but no sound. when u put the dvd in it should pop up a blue screen saying something about not playing as you drive down the road it doesnt it plays the dvds right away.. but there is no sound can you help me?

Answer
Is it because the car is moving?  If the car is moving the picture will not play.  See this blog about it:

"How do you bypass the emergency brake on your phase linear UV7i installation to watch movies while driving?
In: Car Electronics Electrics and Lights

Well you can run the pink wire to the fuse box then add a switch.....When prompt to do so turn switch on for five seconds......Then turn it back off.....Then turn back on and leave on....TV will come on in 1-2 seconds."

If you have it connected properly (wiring harness or wire to wire matching of all the connections) it should work.  If not, you may have to pull the unit out and bench test it or have it bench tested.  The bench test consists for powering it up outside the car with a battery and external speakers to verify it works.  Then, recheck the wiring scheme of the car and the unit to make sure all wires are correct (including the video on/off wiring, which is extra).

Here is the wiring scheme for your car:

The wiring for your uv7i is with the owners manual.  It should also instruct you on how to turn on the video; it should be wired so that the video will come on when the car is not moving (in park) but go out as soon as the car starts moving. You may have the audio mute and video mute wires reversed or something like that.

Does this provide a solution for you? If not, tell me more.
