Question
my 2000 Grand Prix has a stereo with cd player and equalizer.  Recently my cd player quit working and is showing an error 20, i tried cleaning it with air duster and a cleaning disc and no luck.  What does error 20 mean?

Answer
It is a focus error.  Could be caused by dirt on the lens. You can clean the lens using a cotton q-tip.  Just flick the lens a few times with the q-tip and it will knock of the invisible boulders that are messing up the laser beam.  

Also, if you are trying to play CD-Rs that were recorded on a computer they may never play as older cd players are not so good at playing anything other than store-bought cds.

In the worst case the laser diode is weak and needs replaced (the cost of which is very, very expensive; probably more than a new player).
