Question
2000 Pontiac Sunfire with CD, tape, digital radio and clock in same unit. Doesn't say Monsoon anywhere (bought used, don't know) Clock display is beginning to fade to black from the left to the right. All sound still working, but is this the beginning of the whole sound unit dying?  How to fix, what can I replace it with, and where can I get it?  Thanx.

Answer
No, display is independent of the rest of the radio unit.  It may be a setting of the brightness from the dash lights; try that first.

Repairing would be an expensive ordeal and you may find it easier and cheaper to just replace the whole head unit.

Best place to go for replacement radios is www.crutchfield.com and go through the "outfit my car" sequence.  It will guide you to various models that are compatible with your vehicle.  You don't have to purchase from Crutchfeild but if you do they will supply you with installation instructions.
