Question
Hello-
My stereo head in the dash is making a whining noise that sounds like a fan motor or cd motor.  It seems related to temperature as in higher temp is noise-ier.  I don't think is is the CD motor since it does it even when CDs are not being played.  Slowly turning the volume down will make it stop around a setting of 9 on the bar scale.  Seems like it could be a fan designed to cool the 350 watt amp, though some people say there is a separate amp under the dash.  One jeep forum member says they reflashed his stereo.  My dealer knows nothing about it.  Is there any chance a flash or reset will fix it.  Do you know how to do this?

Thanks,
Rich

Answer
This is normal i just pull a radio from a 2007 dodge truck and with one speaker when i turn up the volume the fan in the back side spins the louder i go the faster the motor move when you lower the volume ,
the fan will slow down but don't stop
it is there to cool down the radio and there is nothing you can do about it  ,stoping the fan will damage the radio
