Audio Systems/Poor Radio Reception

Question
QUESTION: Sir:

I recently changed out the stereo in our 2004 Civic with a Sony CDX-GT621PW.  FM reception is poor and AM is really bad.  We did not have reception problems with the factory stereo.

I have read on several different sites that there may be a factory antenna booster that needs to be connected.  The wiring diagram for the new receiver has a "power antenna" lead, but I can't find where to hook this up.  All the diagrams I have found, for the factory wiring, does not have  a booster or antenna power connection.

We have verified that the antenna cable is plugged in to the  receiver.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

aloha,
Mike

ANSWER: did you also install window tinting on the vehicle back glass ?

QUESTION: Yes, but that was over three years ago.  It did not affect the reception

ANSWER: are you sure there is not a blue wire on the harness use for this installation,if not look at the empty pins and see if there is a cable at the other end

QUESTION: thanks for the response.  Sorry, I am not clear on what you are suggesting.  Are you saying I should splice the power antenna wire to a blue wire on the factory harness?  Really, unclear about looking at the empty pins...

Answer
some civic have a booster antenna amplifier and that connects to the strips on the back window

this device is on the side of the back window and needs power
look on the vehicle radio harness if there is a cable not been use

it is possible that the harness use for the installation is missing the blue cable
