Audio Systems/cd stuck in player

Question
QUESTION: Greetings.  I have a 2003 Ford Sport Track with the Pioneer CD-6 in dash 'audiophile' premium sound system. Reently, I loaded a cd and the player still showed that slot as empty. I ejected the cd in the adjacent slot number and the disk I had just inserted popped out. The unit continued working, and I forgot about this until today, when I attempted to insert (load) a cd into the 'blank' slot. Now the CD player doesn't 'move' when I attempt to load or eject a disk. It shows the slot I attempted to load the disk in as empty.

QUESTION: Well, damn — just my luck. Thanks for answering, however. If I choose to remove the unit and investigate, should I disconnect the battery first? Meaning: any chance of blowing fuses or anything if I just remove the 2 bolts under the unit and above the climate controls?

Thanks!

Answer
there is no need to unplug the battery
