Question
I have a Sony audio receiver and I want to connect my tv and Direct tv receiver to the Sony audio receiver for optical sound.How can I accomplish this?
By "optical" sound I assume you mean digital audio via an optical cable. Digital audio is transmitted via an optical cable or a standard rca cable. Look at your receiver and see what digital inputs you have and look at your devices and see what digital outputs they have. It's as simple as connecting the digital output of the device to the digital input on the receiver.
