Question
Can I unlock my radio---Its a 2004 chevy cavalier--its a rds radio-I tried the thing where you hold down buttons and wait for a code but mine doesnt respond--can i do it myself without taking it to the dealer--please help

Answer
What do you mean by "locked"?  Is it asking for you to enter the anti-theft code?  If so, you must have that code; it will not operate until you enter the correct code.  You can get the code by searching for code retrieval service providers online or call the chevy dealer for help.  There will be a cost associated with retrieval of the code.

Here is one place to try.  I have not used them but others have with good results:

If the radio is locked into a certain station and won't progress to another one you may have to do a reset. Check your manual for reset procedure.

Let me know more.
