Question
i have a 2000 ford escort ZX2. it has a factory radio/tape player in it with a 6-disk cd changer in the trunk. the volume/ on and off knob has been smashed into the system. the power will no longer turn on or off. i would like to know what the cheapest way to fix this would be. the salvage yard said they can give me a whole new factory radio for $250. the audio dynamics store says i can get a dash installation kit and a new cd player for $125. do i have any other options? is it possible to just repair the one i have?

Answer
Call the the audio dynamics store again and tell them you have radio and ac controls together
and a factory amplifier under the seat
their price will double

the best way is to get the same original radio $250.00 is a lot of money for a used radio
you can get a rebuild unit with warranty, from oemautosound for $140.00
good luck
