Dear Cleggsan,
I fitted a ps2 console in my VW Jetta 2009. But after couple of days the converter failed. Subsequently I replaced the same and found it again failed. I am not sure what is the problem. Pls let me know what could be the problem and suggest a method to rectify or correct procedure to fit in the Jetta vehicle.  

Answer
The ps2 draws over 5 amps.  It is possible your converter is not strong enough to supply the power. It draws 45 to 50 watts  -  which is a fair amount.  And, the converter should have overhead of about 50% for safety.  That means your converter/inverter should have capacity of 7 - 8 amps and 60 watts.

Maybe that is the problem?  Let me know if you need more.
