Question
i installed an aftermarket stereo in a 200 chevy suburban. I used a wiring harness adapter and now i get power but no sound. I heard i need to power the factory amps but don't know how.

Answer
Sorry, can't help you very specifically without the year (200 is not a valid model year!)  and full model number of the Suburban and the make/model of the new stereo you installed.  And, it would help greatly to know which system was installed in the vehicle from the factory - there were several system choices.

If it has a JBL original system the amps would be located in the back somewhere and the remote wire must be connected that turns on the amps when the new head unit goes on.

If you used a wiring harness and the truck has external amps then the speaker wiring is already in place between the existing amp and the speakers.

If there is no amp then the new stereo you installed must have the amplifiers built in (or you can install your own external amp).

So, flesh that out and let me know what more you will need.
