Audio Systems/Bost CD Player Error Code FO

Question
I have a 2006 G-35 Infiniti with a Bose System Radio & CD Player.  I have 6 relatively new CDs in the CD Player and when I switch tracks recently the CD Player jammed and indicates on the display "CD Error FO".  It will no longer play, unload or load my CDs?  Is there anyway to reset this CD Player or get it to release my CDs?  I have tried turning the CD Player off and on and turning the car completely off and then turning the CD player back on -- nothing works.

Answer
Yes, Bose are really troublesome this way.  Some of them (Bose does not make them, rather, they contract with other manufacturers to make them and put the Bose name on them) have a reset button inside a small hole somewhere on the front panel. To reset you use a paper clip straightened out so you can push into the hole and actuate the reset button.

Others require removal of power.  It is easily done by pulling off one of the cables at the battery terminal.  BUT: Be careful. If your radio/cd player is featured as an anti-theft unit you must have the anti-theft code in order to activate it once the power has been removed. This feature is to discourage thieves from stealing it out of the car.  Once power is removed you must enter the theft code in order to get it going again.  SO: Make certain you have the code prior to removing power from it.

The CD error message is merely a message telling you it is jammed up.

Here is one Infinity owner that got it going again - with the help of "MOM":

There are other ideas in this trail of comments if the first suggestion doesn't work.

You can google for other solutions.  If you are still under warranty get the dealer on it; if not and you can't go further, try a local car radio/stereo installer/shop.  Car dealers rarely have electronic specialists on staff.
