QUESTION: Hi, I have a 2005 saab 9-7x that I am trying to install an amp and subwoofer to. I have wired my previous vehicles and I would say that I am pretty expeeienced in installing but I cannot figure out how to get sound from the inline converter. I have power to the amp with a good remote turn on but I tried splicing into one of the rear speakers but I was getting no sound. So I figured that I needed to spliced into a speaker with bass coming out of it such as one of the mid speakers in the front doors so I tried that as well but nothing.. do you think I may have a bad converter? But that's not my first conclusion to jump to because I wasn't even sure I was tapping into the right speakers. If there was a wiring diagram that you could show me that would be amazing, but I am stumped as of right now and all the local audio shops around me are booked for 3 weeks

Then splice into the wires you want to pick the signal from.  If your sub amps have Hi-Lo inputs you can use the HI input and you are all set.  If the amp has only LO level inputs you will need a hi-lo adapter which you can find at:

QUESTION: What speaker should I wire the inline converter to? Also now that I have hooked up the power wire to the battery, my car is idling funny, the RPMs are dropping and coming back up. Any ideas?

I don't understand the question.  The in-line converter that I proposed goes between the already installed speaker and the input of the amplifier you are adding to the system.

If you are asking about installing the converter/adapter, then you should connect it to the rear speaker lines which will be near unto the amp location and will get the signal for the the back speakers.  If you are installing just for sub woofer performance then you should tap both rear speakers - if the adapter allows for it and feed to one or both amps if you are driving one woofer or two.  I take it from your original question you are installing a single/mono amp and one sub speaker.  So, you can get the hi-lo adapter to feed you a "lo" level signal from either or both rear speaker lines of the already installed system.
