Question
When a cd is loaded and a use the down arrown source button on the steering wheel, the radio power shuts down for a second, then powers on, and I have to reset the time. When this happens, the cd player is locked. The radio continues to operate. What's wrong and how do I get the cd player to work.  Thank you.

Answer
Without the make and model number for the car and the player I can only give you a wild guess.

With this limited knowledge of your system I would make the wild guess the power lines are wired wrong or one is loose or broken off. If the cd player is separate from the head unit it could a broken wire in the connecting cables or a bad/loose connector......

Hope this helps.
