Question
How do i replace the rear speakers on my '96 silverado k1500 ext cab?

Answer
Try this:

http://www.carstereoremoval.com/htm/stereoremovalChevrolet1500CC99_04P.htm

Unfortunately, the full set of instructions cost a little $$.

Most Chevy vehicles require the panel to be removed allowing you access to the mounting screws that hold the speaker to the metal framework.  The speaker is usually shrouded with a plastic waterproof bag which must be kept in tact to keep rain water from getting in and damaging the speaker.

Hope this helps.
